Salary guides usually report averages that nobody actually receives. What matters is the band for your track, your market, and your seniority — and how the pieces beyond base stack together.
Across our placements this year, data and analytics roles signed between $95K and $135K, software engineering between $110K and $165K, business and finance between $85K and $120K, and operations between $80K and $115K. Signing bonuses near $10K remain common; equity shows up mostly at scale-ups.
The spread between markets is narrowing but real: the same analyst role prices roughly 12–18% higher in tier-one metros, and remote-first employers increasingly anchor to a national band rather than a city.
Negotiation still moves offers — but only when it's grounded. Candidates who countered with structured, comparable data moved their packages by a median of 7%. Candidates who countered with a number and no story mostly heard silence.
